thankful?

Oh yeah, every minute, every day. That we’re all fed and clothed and healthy and safe, that my children even get to exist, that we have such a nice extended family and that the part of the world that we get to see is mostly beautiful. I miss my mom a lot, but I’m glad we got 35 years, and that we had such a good relationship – I didn’t rebel, she didn’t nag, we really did get along pretty well, most of the time. I’m not in the best mood for the month that stretches between my birthday and Mom’s, and encompasses the anniversary of her death as well as Thanksgiving, but I frequently say, and I honestly believe, that I’m the luckiest person in the world. Every day is a gift.

Song du jour of the day: Kirakuni, by Crystal Kay.
