In my college psychology class there was a bit about dreams and how nobody really knows how or why et cetera, but there was a theory that I really liked. It was that dreams are a response to random neural firing – nerve cells in the emotional bits of our brains would occasionally fire, triggering a feeling – happiness, fear, surprise, whatever – and then our brains would make up a story to explain that feeling.
What a piece of work is man, indeed. Even asleep, we create.
